1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Ciss AI ("Company", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the Ciss AI platform, including the website at cissai.com, the anonymous map at maps.cissai.com, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing any part of the Service, or continuing to use the Service after changes to these Terms have been posted, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Ciss AI is a real-time location sharing platform that renders user GPS coordinates on an interactive MapLibre GL map. The Service includes:
- •Real-time location sharing between authenticated users
- •Three-state visibility control: visible to everyone, friends only, or hidden
- •Friends system for private location sharing and friend-only callouts
- •Callout messages displayed as speech bubbles on the map
- •Nearby user discovery powered by geospatial search
- •Workout tracker for runs, walks, and activities with realtime GPS metrics
- •3D map rendering with tilt and terrain support
- •Companion AI assistant for in-app guidance
- •User profile, display name, and avatar management
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. Account Registration
4.1 Account Creation
To access certain features you must create an account by providing a valid email address and a display name. You may also register using a Google OAuth provider. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
4.3 Display Name Rules
Display names must be between 1 and 20 characters. We reserve the right to remove display names that impersonate other individuals, contain offensive language, or otherwise violate these Terms.
5. Location Data and Privacy
5.1 Voluntary Sharing
Location sharing is entirely voluntary. You may set your visibility to "all", "friends only", or "hidden" at any time from within the application. When set to hidden, your GPS coordinates are not broadcast to any other user and you do not appear on the map.
5.2 Anonymous Mode
Users of the anonymous map at maps.cissai.com do not need to create an account. Location data in anonymous mode is only held in memory for the duration of your session and is permanently deleted when you close the page or navigate away.
5.3 Data Retention
Active location data is stored only while you are online and visible. We do not build historical location trails for free-tier users. Chat messages are purged when you disconnect. Refer to our Privacy Policy for full data retention details.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use the Service to:
- •Stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten any individual
- •Track the location of any person without their explicit consent
- •Impersonate any person or entity
- •Post harmful, offensive, or illegal content in map chat
- •Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- •Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- •Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
- •Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- •Use the Service to coordinate illegal activities of any kind
- •Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written consent
7. Robotics, Drones, and Autonomous Devices
Ciss AI permits the integration of GPS-enabled devices including ground robots, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), autonomous vehicles, and sensor nodes. By connecting such devices you represent that:
- •You hold all required licences and permits to operate the device in your jurisdiction
- •The device operates in compliance with applicable aviation, road traffic, and privacy laws
- •You accept sole liability for any damage, injury, or legal violation caused by your device
- •You will not use the Service to coordinate unauthorized surveillance operations
8. Intellectual Property
The Ciss AI name, logo (֎), platform code, design, and content are owned by or licensed to Ciss AI and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as avatar images). By uploading content you grant Ciss AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and serve that content within the Service.
9. Subscriptions and Billing
Ciss AI offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Pro and Max). Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time and your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your use poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the Service. You may delete your account at any time from the Dashboard, which permanently removes your profile, avatar, and associated data.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ciss AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, property damage, or harm arising from reliance on real-time location information.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $10.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ciss AI and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
